'Tother day I pulled up the dead weeds and began to fork over the strip of erstwhile weedy ground prior to salting it properly for the rest of the summer and autumn.
Began to fork, met a couple of neighbours and that was that.
Finished the job toady and salted one third of the strip, ran out of salt  and play began at 11 am  . End of.
Note to Self: Buy more salt, go early because this looks like it could be a 5-dayer. Forgo breakfast, you don't need it.

Eh! Can this be right? Surely a wee heeland lassie such as yourself has to have to a humongous bowl of porage every day come what may.

Ah well, thing is, there are extenuating circs surrounding the purchase of extra salt. You see, I can't go 'til early Tuesday 'cos Keep Fit begins at 0930, play at 1100. Tight schedule ......
However, your concern warms the cockles, etc :shake: .

I do see your dilemma but "Keep Fit" seems to me an overuse of limited resources especially as I had you down as being as fit as a butcher's Whippet what with all the time you spend tending the Placido Hanging Gardens and consuming the fruits thereof

My Hazel tree :tree: has started dropping this year's crop of nuts. Sadly they very rarely have a very substantial kernel so I'n not expecting a big influx of Squirrels. :squirrel: :squirrel: If any.

Nuts or no nuts, maybe the butcher and his whippet keep the squirrels away.
Wish I had both (butcher and whippet not nuts and squirrels).

Actually, we had a corkscrew hazel twice upon a once and I seem to recall that the kernels were OK, but then we had pekes not whippets. There may be a correlation there .... or not .
