Whaddaya mean, "courtesy of" ?!?!?!?!?!!? :wife: This is nothing to do with my small enterprise and the haggi are all out posting early Crimbo prezzies following a bumper Black Friday :rara:.
The fungus is quite obviously Boletus edulis (eats luvly with bacon, sausage and fresh farm eggs - orders for which are now being taken).

One must confess that the 2010 vintage was rather splendid but we still retain a small cache of the '08 - need one say more :yummy: :yummy: :yummy:. All applications will be considered and the successful candidate's selection will depend on the size of the brown envelope. Apply to Honest Placi and Sepp, Zurich.

Order Early To Avoid Disappointment - You Know It Makes Sense.

P.S.: Cap'n - can you get me a supply of the Boletus ?? wink wink

Regretfully supplies of the Boletus will not be available. There was only three, one of which was barged over by a clumsy feral Pigeon  But the good news is I am taking advanced orders for next year and a well stuffed brown envelope will secure your place at the head of the queue.
PS A few bottles of the `08 HB could persuade me to let you have the whole crop  :woohoo:

Can anyone put a name to this strange fungus which has lately appeared beneath my rowan and suggest to what purpose it may be put ??
Although this is not a quiz there is a prize; therefore the very last case of the '08 vintage (flavour: mistletoe berry and advocaat) will be winging its festive way to the brown envelope of the Panel's choice.

P.S.: Cap'n, you gotta deal on the Boletus .

Have had a quick look round Placi. Looks like it could be a Cap. Not edible by the looks of it.

Having had a good look at Placi's reply as to the ID of my mystery Fungus the judges decision is that it was incorrect. I am still open to suggestions.

 Oh dear, oh groan. Willpar and Greg, I'm so sorry - I lied :smack:.
I just took a photo of the screen :sofa:.
I don't want to play this game any more.
Jacksparrow, the Boletus deal is off seeing as how you haven't got any.

I am beginning to think the fungus is a Shaggy Parasol similar to the ones I had back in October. The top of the cap is darker but that may be due to the wet weather we've been having. There is still time but these do not look as though they're going to grow as big. :)

I think these can be eaten if well cooked ..............

Intense stomach discomfort may occur from eating raw L. rhacodes. They should only be eaten cooked. There have also been a few reports of minor reactions to cooked L. rhacodes. It would be wise to eat only a small amount of these mushrooms the first time you try them.

............... but I'd keep well away from them ! :woohoo:
