Last year I sowed some packets of seeds (various) and stood back. The results were exiguous
However, 2 Californian poppies (both of them
) remained bushy and green throughout the winter and today one has burst into flower (2 blooms) which caused me to examine the other one. It is covered in buds
which will burst into riotous colour any time soon.
Spurred into frenzied action by the above excitement, a single, small, pot marigold (there's only one) has also partly revealed itself from beneath the largest, most vigorous pyrawotsit. Fortunately, its apologetic little flower is bright orange otherwise I should have missed it entirely.
Coincidentally, the orange perfectly replicates the colour of the Californian thingy so the co-ordination is remarkable.
