It's mixed in with the buddleia and the blackthorn, oh yes, and some holly, and the 2nd pyrawotsit .
Aaaanyway, the subject in question is the wee red flowers .

A cheery addition to the autumn garden. Hopefully it will last until the first frosts.

Now the Rowan has shed it's leaves it was time for a closer inspection of my Mistletoe. It has grown a bit since it was first spotted but it has no berries It was a little disappointing but presumably the birds have scoffed them. I will post some photos soon.Jacksparrow wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 8:11 pmWhile I was being ably assisted by Mrs JS in the garden this afternoon I heard her say "Mistletoe". "Eh?" I thought it being six months before Chrimbo. Come and look at this she beckoned directing my gaze into the upper boughs of our Rowan . Sure enough there it was a baby Mistletoe
I had no idea that Rowans were a likely host for the parasite.

One photo showing the total growth and the other showing where it has attached itself to the tree

Meggle of the Month for that, Jacksparrow - and it's only the 2nd !!
What a wonderful thing to have in captivity.
Local garden centre has bunches growing on, I think from memory, birch trees, but that's not the same as having your very own.

Re: WHAT'S GROWING IN YOUR GARDEN ??
I was given the garden a bit of a tidy up today and noticed I had a small crop of self seeded saplings. The main ones being hazel, ash and elder plus quite a few brambles. These have all been removed and not without a little trouble for some send down deep roots even when there is relatively little above the ground. In the finish rain stopped play but there are certainly more to be found.

Bad luck to have to scrap hazel and ash. I know, I know, but it's still a shame. Sometimes it has to be don though.
