I was very privileged in work today to see a bat.
One of the ecologists is a bat rescuer and she'd been to get a bat that was hanging on a local house wall.
It was a bit sleepy and dehydrated. She had it in a clear box and it was sitting on a scrumpled up cloth.
If I had my glasses on I might have seen his face a bit better, but it was so cool to see his little toes on his back legs and his little noe.

They had a few bats in work today. Unfortunately the pipistrelle had died, but that meant I could stroke its fur. It was soo soo soft, very velvety.
They also had a brown long eared bat that they tried to release last night, but it didn't want to go. I didn't think I could touch that, but later I saw them let a colleague stroke it, so I was over there like a shot. It was so soft andinsignificant, we could hardly tell that we were touching it. They are so lovely.

We get to see bats every night I look for them here. They fly really low too. My 2 kids love them.

See them at dusk here. Wonderful to watch. Now I have trees in the garden that attract insects I can see them darting around.
