Mrs JS found a Small Tortoiseshell in one of the chateau bedrooms. It's lack of movement convinced her it was deceased but during an attempt to move the body it sprang into life. I was summoned to relocate and obliged by putting it in the garage. I know they do hibernate so I'm hoping it finds a cosy billet. Spring is a long way off and it is sharing will many spiders

Still plenty of Red Admirals around. Am seeing them on my walks.

I'm a little surprised the RAs are still around I would expect them to be in winter hibernation now.
