Caterpillars

Seen this one in the lane today. Don't know what it will eventually be, but not seen one like that before. Did move it to a safer place.

Did a quick Firkle and reckon it's a Pale Tussock Moff Caterpillar. Not amongst our 10 most common.

Thanks for the id Placi. Did a quick look myself after I seen your post, and those hairs can give a nasty rash. Good job I never touched it. As you heard a lady was coming down the lane that I know, and I was talking to her dog and not the caterpillar. Mind you I do say hello to the cows at the gate.

Strange that such a stand out caterpillar results in such a 'so what' type of moff :shrug:
