Ooo I like it - looking good - tunnels of swirly ice cream :D

I'm glad they're still there. Wonder if Brock has been back.

Strange, isn't it, that they've chosen to rebuild rather than begin again in a safer (higher !!) location. Haven't learned their lesson.
Hope all this industry won't be in vain.

Fascinating stuff.

Things like Wasp nests have always fascinated me because of their complexity. Is there a Wasp nest project manager in their midst or is the design and requirements innate to each worker involved?

They certainly get the job done jacksparrow. Whatever their system it works a treat.

Farther on down the lane from that wasp nest, I found another as I was coming up the bridle path. Dug out again, so no doubt a badger. These look more like the common wasp.

It is a very brave or stupid individual that tries to dig out a wasp nest. We all know how bad tempered they can be when annoyed. The Badger will be operating at night so perhaps they are less aggressive after dusk. :bee: :bee: :bee: :dogrun:

They do look bigger wasps :)

They ought to nest in a bird nesting box - I'd like to see a badger trying to get in there

Sorry, Mr Badger Sir, Your Honour - not laughing really  :badger:

I think by the time we reach September the main business of creating new Queens is just about done. If not they've had a busy year for nothing!

That looks quite comprehensive .
Seems to be a lot of activity in one particular spot; maybe that's where the queen was.

That got me thinking as well placi. Considering the whole thing was the size of a football to begin with. The queens chamber could be behind those stones.
