Strange, isn't it, that they've chosen to rebuild rather than begin again in a safer (higher !!) location. Haven't learned their lesson. Hope all this industry won't be in vain.
Things like Wasp nests have always fascinated me because of their complexity. Is there a Wasp nest project manager in their midst or is the design and requirements innate to each worker involved?
They certainly get the job done jacksparrow. Whatever their system it works a treat.
Farther on down the lane from that wasp nest, I found another as I was coming up the bridle path. Dug out again, so no doubt a badger. These look more like the common wasp.
It is a very brave or stupid individual that tries to dig out a wasp nest. We all know how bad tempered they can be when annoyed. The Badger will be operating at night so perhaps they are less aggressive after dusk.
That got me thinking as well placi. Considering the whole thing was the size of a football to begin with. The queens chamber could be behind those stones.
