I was stood squinting into my wildlife pond this afternoon when an Azure Damselfly arrived from out of nowhere. It always surprises me when they turn up as I don't live anywhere near a big body of standing water which they would like although the river is not far away.

I've just googled that - I've seen them very occasionally on my pond. Now I know the name !!
Maybe the sunshine brought it out ??

During my pond watch today I was having frequent visits from a splendid Common Blue Damselfly. By no means a rare sight but a lovely dash of colour in a predominantly green area.

I, too, have been looking these up - I thinks Kev's given us pics of the latter two - nice to see them in your garden

My first Damselfly of 2016 which somehow got into the house today. I took it's picture and let it go without harm
I believe it to be a Large Red Damselfly

Definitely not which is just as well as anything as large as that whizzing round inside the chateau gives Mrs. JS the heeby-jeebies
