My friend from New Jersey sent me this pic. Says they come in the garden most days. Locals don't care for them munching away at their plants, but my friend don't mind, says they were there before the houses.

I always think that the animals, etc., were here before humans built an artificial landscape. Just imagine looking out on those beauties when the curtains are drawn in the morning :) :yes: :)

Nuthatch, cant actually say. But if it was, might be a union jack. My friend is English and came from Hull.

Been thinking about this pic toady. I took this to be the back garden in which the deer frolic and therefore the pole under discussion was the central staff of a large garden umbrella :shrug:.
I came to this apparently singular conclusion owing to the shadow on the grass.

Other interpretive suggestions welcome ........ :scratch:

Came face to face with a roe deer this morning. Well I got to within 30ft of it. Was over the playing fields when I took the bird food over.
