The count is way down on last year Placi. Whether it will recover is another matter.

Is it about now that the hoglets are due to be born?

Could be any time from now Jacksparrow. Though I suspect a little later this year due to a late winter. The males were out and about early - ish but not the females. The one here has been taking more bedding into the box under the hedge. Can see where it has cleared an area each side of the box of grass. will put out some nice hay that I have tonight. And have a camera watching the box.

I happened to look out through the patio doors last evening around midnight to see two Hogs performing a strange circling ritual. This continued for some time. I never saw the end of the display as bed was calling :owl: :hedgehog: :hedgehog:

At this time of year I am putting the Hedgehog's dried mealworms out at around 10 pm to avoid any latecomers from the day shift cashing in. Yesterday Mrs JS spotted our prickly visitor at 9.40 and it looked like being disappointed. Earlier in the day I'd put out some chicken bones and skin for the birds of which there appeared to be leftovers. Our Hog had found the goodies and tucked in while the main course was served. :) :hedgehog:
