I have always pondered that jacksparrow. The little one here was inches away from the kerb, most drivers dont hug the kerb when they drive. Not the first time i had seen that either.

I think the unfortunate Hog may end up in the gutter if it is struck a glancing blow or if it is struck by the underside of the vehicle rather than a wheel.

It is always imagined that Hogs are getting their heads down with the onset of cooler weather but they appear to keep on coming out as long as there is something to eat. I'm fairly sue I still have a least one coming as food is taken most nights and the odd calling card is left by way of a thankyou.

Just have the one hedgehog visiting now, and that one is getting later.

I have not seen one for some time or found any sign that they have visited.

I'm very sad to report that in the last 24 hours a Hog has drowned in one of my ponds. I was working by the pond yesterday and it wasn't there but today it was. I am puzzled as to why it couldn't get out as the water level is high and the pond edge gently sloped at one end. I believe others have fallen in in the past and managed to haul themselves out but for reasons unknown this one failed.

That is sad jacksparrow. Bit of a puzzle, but perhaps hypothermia.
