I had a hog wandering around the garden at 2 o'clock this afternoon. It was behaving perfectly normally and giving me no reason to suspect it was in trouble. It appeared to be looking for food so I put some food where it might find it. Shortly after it went under my back boundary fence and I didn't see it again.

They do that occasionally, always best to keep an eye on it if possible. If it was lying spread eagle that would have been a different story. Am still getting visitors at night here.

My hog was out early tonight. It was still half light and I was just putting out the food.

Have noticed myself that there is a young one that turns up before 8pm.

I have been putting out more food for my hogs recently and every crumb is disappearing.

I know it must be soon because they'll start warning us to look for hogs under bonfires before Gut Fawkes night.
The weather forecast is for mild nights this week so they're OK for now.

Looks like just two hedgehogs coming in at the moment, one adult and a juvenile.
