Still can't believe this ~ put my 20 year old (today, this very day !! - for New Year read Birthday ) VW Polo in for a bit of attention to a chap I've never been to before.
Went back this affie to collect and whilst waiting I spotted the very escallonia I wanted - bought the wrong variety earlier in the year - and asked him what was the variety. He had no idea (still a few flowers on it) but tore off a couple of cuttings and just gave them to me.
Chance in a million and now I just hope I can grow the cuttings on .....

Car fixed (new cam belt, water pump and tensioner), perfick.
The chap (Pete) apparently trained (quite a while ago ) on VWs and he fell in love with his new patient. When we came back he said with a Cheshire cat grin, "Isn't it beautiful ?!?!?". He was thrilled: "Don't make 'em like that any more" etc., etc......
As if it was a cute puppy .
