Got these couple of beauties On safari. Is a different variety than I normally see, as it has speckles. Another orchid.

Another beauty, Willpar. Are all of them growing in more or less the same location ??

Hi Placi, yes roughly the same location. Where those are and the others, there are pockets of them spread over around 10 acres of land. The council have adopted a regime for the past few years or so where they only cut the rough parts once a year. And now wild plants are flourishing. The ones above are on a bank behind a building. I don't wander down there usually. Glad I did. Were several of that variety there, but I picked the two together. In fact over that 10 acre site, I have never seen so many orchids. They are in the hundreds.

Beautiful flowers. A big well done to the council as long as they cut down the mowing to help the flowers and not just a money saving exercise.
Cynical Moi

The council does a pretty good job of the cutting jacksparrow. Usually around September. Cut it like a farmer would for hay, and bale it up and take it away.

Went down to the lakes today, birdie wise not a lot about. But plant wise, plenty of these orchids.
