I don't know what it is but there were about half a dozen of them hiding under some vegetation when I was tidying up the front garden today.

Must be The Right Time Of Year. I've 12 of those all in a row like little soldiers. I mentioned them just the other day under a thread called "Fungi" . (Hadn't realised we have duplication here .)

I'd remembered your report but I found this thread first and wondered where your report had vanished to.

Waited all morning for the sun to come out to snap these delightful unexpected little visitors .

Gently fried in a little butter along with a couple of rashers of back bacon. Delicious

And first thing this morning, right by the above, is a tiny group of something like this:

Not exact but similar. They are darkish grey and rather more ethereal than this example.
Rain + warmth = who knows ?!?!?!

Am seeing a few fungi on my walks.

The Men arrived yesterday morning - cut the grass in the rain and smashed the little toadstool fambly to smithereens
