Yesterday lunchtime I spotted a large toadstool on the back lawn. Recalling Nuthatch's trophy of a few days ago I took a pic - to wit and viz below .......

A short time later I looked out of the window to have a quick gloat :P and ..... !!!!!!! GORNE  .......
P1000307 (256x192).jpg
Wishing to know the cause of the denied aforementioned gloat I googled for possible culprits - SQUIRRELS :squirrel: :faint:

I didn't know greys ate fungi - I do now :(

P.S.: The pix are the wrong way round but I can't be bothered .......

Had you grabbed the recipe book before Cyril grabbed the main ingredient?
At least you can enjoy looking at your photo and think about what could have been. :)

The week we were away the 'mushroom' grew back - I thought it was a ball and was going to throw it back over the fence:-

Do squirrels eat fungi? The reason I ask is because most mornings we have one in the garden searching the grass and I wondered what for.

I think they do, johnd - look up 'Squirrels Eat Mushrooms' on YouTube.

When I see them here they are often digging holes in the grass burying peanuts or trying to find ones they've buried :squirrel:

Thank you. Funny enough I found nuts in my garden and I wondered where they came from. :)
