Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

I keep seeing a red kite gliding high above, tried to take a picture few times but it just passes above and doesn't give me enough time to get my phone and take a picture. If I manage that will just be pure luck. When it flies a bit lower you can see just how magnificent and how big the wings on tha...

Re: BIRD FEEDING

I hope thats the reason for the drop in demand here too, its been twice now that all birds have disappeared from my garden, ALL of them  . They came back after a day or two last time (not long ago) and today they are gone again. All the food is just sitting there and the garden looks empty...

Re: COLLARED DOVES

I'm surprised to hear that a collared dove can be aggressive Mike_k  . There are a couple of them that come to my garden and they are the gentlest birds around :) . I try to discourage feral pigeons coming to feed (which is proving to be a problem :grumpy: ) but I happily let collies have a ...

Re: ANTS

One minute I'm enjoying my tea and reading, the next minute I see my garden full of flying ants  :ant: :ant: :ant: Not an ant person at all, I wasn't sure how to get rid of them without using chemicals which might harm the birds, plus I didn't really want to kill them, so I researched and found...

Re: STARLINGS

I think I saw one youngster today with few spots on the breast area  . There are less of them around though, I don't know if because they got spooked or just gone some place else and spread around  Here is a picture of part of the group in my garden, apologies for bad quality, its taken...

Re: STARLINGS

Thanks Jacksparrow, thats good to know so I don't think something sinister has happened :) Would youngsters not change their feathers too? There was a bit of a stress this morning in the garden when the neighbour's cat sneaked up over the fence and jumped right next to the starlings, gave t...

Re: STARLINGS

Hello everyone, I'm a new member here :wave2: As I said in my introduction post, I'm not an expert in gardening or wildlife, but I love animals <3 I really don't know much about birds, and I have to google often to find info on them. But I've always felt love for them, so just recently, I decided to...
