Re: ROBINS

Lovely pictures Ken! My 2 sons have a baby robin visiting their small garden with a high fence. The baby robin is quite safe there as there are no cats. The mother robin appeared after about 10 mins and called to it to come home for tea!! Off they flew together. Baby robin was back about half an hou...

Re: ROBINS

That's a great Robin picture, Kev! I have a pair of Robins nesting in the ivy on the front of my house. It is a favourite place for birds to nest. This is despite the fact there is a Robin box with a recess, in the back garden and has never been used!! I think they like the ivy as it is north facing...

Re: MICE

Hello everyone, sorry I have been missing a while - caring for parents whilst doing shifts is really time consuming - both have dementia. I just came back from the gym this evening at midnight (only time I can fit things like that in these days!!) - when I spotted a cat crouched at the side of the r...

Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs

My hedgie is still around. I have pictures of it!!! It is gotten into the habit of waiting for me to feed it if it arrives early and there is nothing much to eat!!! I got home on Friday evening to find it sitting on the table waiting for food!!!! http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy219/Squirrel3000...

Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs

Hedgie still coming. New calling cards last night and the night before. It is bitter here in Manchester today. Nasty cold wind and bits of rain - quite horrid, but not deterring the new non hibernating hedgie!! Glad to hear Joomoo has one too!! Makes me all the more determined to be on time with the...

Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs

Drew into the driveway this evening, after having scraped all the frozen water off my windscreen at work on the lateshift, to see the hedgie illuminated in my headlights on the driveway!!!! It went into the back garden as there was nothing left on the ground feeder table in the front garden. There w...

Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs

Hedgie was back this evening having something to eat again! We had a sharp frost last night. I thought it would have gone back to bed again, but no!! I went to put the food out about the same time ( about 21.00 hrs) and there it was munching away. I had a feast waiting for it - commercial hedgie foo...

Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs

I have just been out to dutifully put out my hedgehog and fox food which I do every night just in case. I have been noticing that every so often the hedgie food gets eaten, but I do see birds around the front garden ground feeder table and I guess the fox might sometimes eat it as I smell it around ...

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

Hello everyone!! Had a rare day off today, baking a cake for my twin boys birthday today to take to the Wirral for later. Spent time looking out over my garden and lots of birdie activity. Had to top up food twice. 12+ Goldfinches feeding on feeders, my male Black cap is back and the Blackbirds are ...

Re: FOXES

Thank you he's so lovely isn't he!! (if he is a he!!). This evening I am on nights, but there is remnants (quite a lot) from a shoulder of lamb for him and any others, so that should keep them happy, with a big bone. It is good, as it will be frosty I think, and frozen meat will not thaw out so well...
