Garden Wildlife UK

We see them every so often but only in small flocks of about 5 or so. During th Winter we had larger flocks of 10 or more. Managed to get a few shots earlier in the week.

I'm almost certain this is a female blackcap and can't find anything similar it could be. I saw something bobbing about in a bush at the bottom of the garden and thought it may be a wren as there is one we see sometimes. But once I could see it better then it was definitely something else. It was a ...

I don't think anything has moved in but at least they are looking !

Just put up 5 nest boxes this morning scattered round the garden - 4 tit type boxes and 1 Robin box. Really pleased that within an hour we have some blue tits that seem to have decided to take up residence in one of them. I'll monitor and see what happens. Hopefully, some pictures to follow later.

Talking of wrecking gardens, our house is beside a pathway and for some reason the council have cleared most of the shrubs and blackberry patches either side of the foootway and against the other side of our fence. Since then we get a lot less birds in the garden, I presume because they've got nowhe...

Managed to get my favourite long-tailed tit again...

Just shows how putting out different types of food can attract different birds. I don't put anything out on the ground any more as unfortunately it was attracting rats :-( Shame really as it has cut down on what we see.

That's a shame. Thankfully, I haven't seen any round here with any diseases.

Very impressive. Most I've seen at once was about 4, I think.

Also saw a pied wagtail in the garden today for the first time in a while. Also had a jackdaw, blackbird, robins, goldfinch, blue tit, great tit, starling.
