Yeah really nice composition and detail.

Yeah mink certainly crossed my mind.

Unfortunately I don't know what it was I saw as the glimpse was too brief, but in the woods today I turned to see something disappearing off the path ahead in to the undergrowth. It was black (or dark) with a tail about the same length as the body and lying flat to the ground (so wasn't a squirrel)....

There were loads in the ponds in the forest where I was today. No legs on them that I could see either.
