Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

I have put out nyjer (depending how you spell it) seed in the past in the appropriate feeder. Only occasionally did Goldfinches come it to feed on them. However since I started feeding sunflower heart chips I am inundated with Goldfinches, getting 20+ frequently, on feeders and on the ground. I trie...

That is a good number to have Peregrine. Were they behaving.
Two appear to get on well together, the third is tolerated and the forth is bossy and chases anything it sees, even Sparrows.

Re: ROBINS

Would you Adam 'n' Eve it. Just looked out the front window and there to my amazement were not one, not two, not three, but yes, four Robins. Three tubby ones and a slim one.

Five feeding

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

I have a Song Thrush that comes in every day. Cracking snail's shell and devouring them. Tends to feed at the bottom of the hedge. Today I think it was sheltering in the hedge about a foot from the ground (apologies not the best pic).

Re: ROBINS

I have three Robins that come into the garden at the moment. Two quite rotund bird and a slim one. If they all come in together the slim one chases the other two so I assume that is a male being territorial. The two plump ones tolerate each other and have been on the ground feeder together so I assu...

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

I am pretty sure I have a Mistle Thrush coming into the garden. One has appeared the last couple of days feeding along the bottom of the hedge.. Certainly bigger than a Song Thrush and I'm sure a Blackbird. Will try and get a decent pic and post.

Well done Butterfly, picture quality is excellent. I'm sure it will be in regular use from spring onward giving hours of excitement.
