Re: BLACKBIRDS
Blackbirds are definitely back then! John, I think I have some of the same Blackbirds and Wood pigeons too. Today a female blackbird was looking for food in one of the places I always put it. I felt sure she had remembered this from last year. Also one of my wood pigeons always sits on the patio tab...

Re: Indian Ring necked Parakeets
Thank you so much for your nice comments. I think about you all often, but sometimes just getting my tea is hard work (and of course the wildlife's tea too! Never forget my furry and feathered friends!) but I will get to post as often as I can, thank you!

Re: BLACKBIRDS
I love the Blackbird in the boat, it looks so at home!!
My Blackbirds came back last week. I am happy to see them after a couple of months absence. I have been keeping a look out for them for a while now. I get far too many Pigeons when they are not helping hoover up the ground feeder food!!

Indian Ring necked Parakeets
Hi Everyone, sorry I haven't been around for a while, but you may know my parents both have dementia and they have been taking a lot of my time, not to mention my full time shifts at the hospital. A couple of weeks ago we had a very unusual visitor at our Clinical Sciences building at the hospital. ...

Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs
Love your webcams Wilpar. All the food went whilst the weather was very cold at the weekend here too. Haven't seen a hedgie in real life for a bit, but I did have a hedgie which did not hibernate last winter, so I know it is quite possible one is still around

Re: BLACKBIRDS
I have plenty of Blackbirds again. At the weekend I noticed a male Blackbird trying to eat whole peanuts which I had tipped out of the coconut shell as they were soaking. I feed the whole peanuts to the squirrel and fox. It was frosty and snowing around Manchester last weekend and I realised the Bla...

Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs
Hi Wilpar, I am really glad you have a couple of hedgies still coming. Last year I had a large one which never hibernated. I did keep feeding it throughout. The food keeps going sporadically this year, so it may still be around. I just haven't seen it for a while. Of course the food might be being e...

Re: Which season
Went for a walk in Thursaston in Wirral 5th Jan and there was blooming Gorse everywhere. It is beautiful and yellow and bright with fresh newly emerged blooms all over the place. It does traditionally flower form Jan to June, but this looked like it had been out for a bit already and it is very earl...

Re: WOOD PIGEONS
Just on update for you all. The Wood Pigeon photographed on my previous post has made it!!! It is now in the outdoor aviary preparing for release back to the wild. It is not ready yet as it's feathers have to restore and the sanctuary has to ensure the weather is suitable and it has passed a flight ...
