Night camera from Tuesday night picked up three hedgehogs. Two were playing roly poly and the other was watching.

Has got me thinking. If the food source is plentiful, could that be the reason for two broods. Or were some late in breeding anyway.

This morning in the covered feeder, a pair of starlings feeding three fledglings. And another adult took away a beakfull of mealworms. Its not over yet.

Just seen a robin go into a feeder. It ate a suet pellet or two and took another with it. First time I have seen that during breeding season. Are usually winter feeders for me.

Never seen a siskin peregrine. Probably don't come down this far south. Only ever had a greenfinch here once, many years ago.

Done some more reading about the pink fountain. They apparently put down a tap root, and that is why they are so hard to dig up. Putting it in a pot saves all that trouble. Bigger the pot, taller the flower, but in an 18-20" pot should reach at least 8 foot. Ordered the seeds of the blue dwarf echiu...
